HOW IT WORKS

Commissioning bespoke leather requires absolute precision. Our artisans in India do not guess or estimate; they build exactly to the numbers you provide.

To ensure your Made-to-Measure piece has the heavy, flawless drape that Kingsmen Couture is known for, this process cannot be rushed. Please record all measurements in your preferred unit (cm or inches) and double-check your numbers before submitting.

The Prerequisites:

• Do not measure yourself. Posture shifts when you lift your arms, which skews the numbers. Have a friend or a local tailor take these measurements.
• Use a soft tailor’s tape. Never use a stiff metal construction tape.
• Wear a thin, well-fitting t-shirt. Do not measure over heavy sweaters or bare skin. Stand naturally, looking straight ahead.

Here is the exact framework to capture your six required dimensions.

The Bespoke Dimensions

1. Shoulder Width (cm/in)

This dictates the architecture and structural frame of the garment.

Stand behind the subject. Feel for the exact point where the shoulder bone ends and the arm begins to drop. Measure straight across the natural curve of the upper back from the left shoulder point to the right shoulder point.

The Master’s Rule: Do not pull the tape completely straight like a tightrope. Let it trace the natural contour of the upper back.

2. Chest Circumference (cm/in)

This is the anchor of the jacket's fit.

Wrap the tape under the armpits, straight across the shoulder blades in the back, and over the absolute widest part of the chest.

The Master’s Rule: The tape should sit snug against the body, but not tight. You should be able to slide one finger under the tape. Do not puff out your chest; breathe normally.

3. Waist (Below Belt) (cm/in)

Crucial for a clean, straight zip line and ensuring the jacket doesn't ride up.

Measure around the circumference of the torso slightly lower than the natural waist—specifically, just below where the belt sits on your trousers. Keep the tape level all the way around the body.

The Master’s Rule: Do not suck your stomach in. Heavy leather will pull uncomfortably when fastened if this number is artificially small.

4. Jacket Length (cm/in)

This determines where the jacket sits and how it balances your proportions.

Start at the base of the back of the neck (right where a t-shirt collar sits). Measure straight down the centre of the spine to the point where you want the bottom hem of the jacket to end.

The Master’s Rule: For standard outerwear, the tape should drop straight down to sit right around the centre or bottom of the belt line, depending on the silhouette you want.

5. Sleeve Length (cm/in)

A heavy leather sleeve cannot easily be tailored later, so precision here is non-negotiable.

Start the tape at the exact shoulder point you found in Step 1. Let the arm hang naturally with a slight, relaxed bend at the elbow. Run the tape down the outside of the arm, past the elbow, stopping exactly at the prominent wrist bone.

The Master’s Rule: Do not measure down to the hand or knuckles. Leather jackets should break cleanly at the wrist bone to allow room for a timepiece.

6. Bicep Size (cm/in)

Ensures the sleeves fit cleanly without restricting movement.

With the arm hanging relaxed at the side, wrap the tape around the absolute thickest part of the upper arm (the bicep).

The Master’s Rule: Keep the arm entirely relaxed. Flexing will skew the sleeve drape, and since leather does not stretch like cotton, getting this natural relaxed width is vital.
